Since June 2025, disposable vapes have been banned throughout the UK, making the single-use vapes unlawful. Unlawful vapes could possibly be classed as unlawful attributable to banned substances, being single-use, having excessive nicotine ranges or having false ‘nicotine-free’ claims.
We requested Freedom of Data information from all UK councils on the variety of vapes, e-cigarettes, and e-liquids seized in 2025, in addition to the variety of nicotine pouches seized and the variety of fines issued associated to unlawful vape merchandise.
Our information reveals that 1,318,389 unlawful vapes, e-liquids and e-cigarettes have been seized by UK councils in 2025. 16,635 unlawful nicotine pouches have been seized, with 3,494 premises investigated and looked for unlawful vaping merchandise. 174 fines have been issued for the seizures, price £164,012.
