The naming and supply ceremony for the Mitsui O.S.Okay. Traces (MOL)-ordered LNG-fueled Capesize bulker for JFE Metal has been held on the Saijo Shipyard of Imabari Shipbuilding in Japan.

As disclosed, the 210,321-ton vessel was named Verde Heraldo by JFE Metal’s President and CEO Masayuki Hirose, within the presence of MOL executives, amongst others.
It’s understood that the majority provider will sail underneath long-term transport contracts to provide uncooked supplies for JFE Metal’s mills, reportedly offering each “diminished environmental impression and protected and dependable marine transport companies.”
After departing from Saijo Shipyard, LNG gasoline might be provided on to the vessel by way of shore-to-ship bunkering on the Senboku Terminal of Osaka Gasoline, and it’s then scheduled to sail for Australia, MOL revealed.
To remind, JFE Metal and MOL signed the long-term constitution deal for the majority provider again in 2021.
It’s price mentioning that the MOL Group goals to realize internet zero greenhouse fuel (GHG) emissions by 2050. The Japanese main pressured it would proceed to increase its LNG-fueled fleet.
