Diageo-owned Talisker has unveiled The Wild Blue, a restricted version single malt whisky that goals to help coastal habitat restoration.


For the restricted launch, the Isle of Skye-based distillery partnered with the Blue Marine Basis, a UK ocean conservation charity.
In a distillery first, the whisky was completed for 16 months in choose purple wine casks from South Africa’s coastal areas.
In the meantime its secondary maturation was impressed by the distillery’s rugged coastal house on the Isle of Skye and its ‘profound’ reference to the ocean.
Provided at 48.2% ABV and described as ‘a very smoky expression of Talisker’, The Wild Blue shows aromas of pepper, maritime notes of drying seaweed and sea spray, and sun-dried cranberries. The palate affords extra notes of berries, orchard fruits, salt, peat smoke, and sweetness.
Every promotional bottle made for worldwide distribution gives a £3 donation to Blue Marine. The whole donation will quantity to £112,608 (US$150,600), whatever the variety of bottles bought.
The donation will help initiatives that intention to boost water high quality and restore important coastal habitats, together with reviving biodiversity by restoring native oyster beds and seagrass meadows within the Solent area of southern England.

Offered in a 100% recycled glass bottle and carton-free packaging, Talisker The Wild Blue is now out there in choose markets with a recommended retail worth of £82 (US$110).

Celebrities and swimming fanatics are invited to take part in an ocean swim towards the clock. For each kilometre swum, Talisker will donate an extra £150 (US$200) to Blue Marine.
Final October, Diageo introduced plans to demolish the outdated Talisker Distillery with a view to construct a brand new trendy facility with sustainable applied sciences.
