Sembcorp Utilities Pte Ltd, an entirely owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, has obtained Conditional Approval from Singapore’s Vitality Market Authority (EMA) for a 300 MW renewable energy import mission from Peninsular Malaysia to Singapore.
The mission shall be supported by a large-scale renewable vitality improvement on the Linggiu Reservoir in Johor, Malaysia, comprising an roughly 2.2 GWp floating photo voltaic photovoltaic system and as much as 4.3 GWh of battery vitality storage capability. The event is being undertaken by Sembcorp in partnership with KPRJ Surroundings Sdn. Bhd., an entirely owned subsidiary of Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor, and Qua Vitality. Operations are anticipated to start in 2029.
The mission is designed to serve electrical energy demand in each Singapore and Malaysia and can use current and deliberate subsea interconnection infrastructure to facilitate cross-border electrical energy flows.
