USDA acreage report displays crop profitability

USDA’s acreage report, launched earlier this week, didn’t shock analysts with extra corn, soybean and cotton acres, fewer rice and wheat acres than what was estimated within the USDA’s March Potential Plantings report. An ag economist within the Delta says the shifts mirror producer profitability.
Hunter Biram with College of Arkansas Extension tells Brownfield soybeans had been nearer to breakeven than different crops, and planting selections had been largely made earlier than the Center East battle escalated.
